Her lack of understanding about the major benefits businesses gain from "welfare", health programs, farm subsidies, trade tariffs AND mortgage deductions is typical of upper class Americans. They really don't see those subsidies of themselves as the government welfare they are.

State income taxes alone are a misleading indicator of the cost of living. I'm leaving Florida for Georgia, which means incurring state income tax, although $35K is exempt as a retiree.

Why aren't bankers & insurance execs responsible for the losses they create? I own a business, and when we hit a bad patch 12 years ago I laid off employees, cancelled the office lease, and personally paid back every penny.
